Job Summary:
We are
seeking a skilled L2 Unix/Linux Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. The
ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Linux systems and hands-on
experience in Unix flavors such as AIX, Solaris, or HP-UX (preferred). This
role involves server administration, migration, new implementation,
standardization, monitoring, and mentorship of junior staff.
Key
Responsibilities:
- Perform
day-to-day Linux/Unix system administration (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu). - Support
server migrations, upgrades, and new deployments in production and staging
environments. - Implement and
maintain new operational standards and automation across server infrastructure. - Handle user
management, file systems, and permission settings via command line. - Troubleshoot
and resolve issues related to networking, DNS, SSH, IP addressing, etc. - Manage and
maintain LAMP stack environments, including basic troubleshooting. - Administer
WHM/cPanel for hosting environments (preferred). - Develop and
maintain shell scripts for automation and operational efficiency. - Monitor
system performance, availability, and security, and respond to incidents. - Ensure backup
strategies and system recovery protocols are in place and tested. - Collaborate
with other teams for implementation of standards, security hardening, and
compliance. - Act as a
technical escalation point for L1 engineers and mentor/train junior team
members.
Required
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3–5
years of hands-on experience with Linux administration (Red
Hat/CentOS/Ubuntu). - Experience
with other Unix variants (AIX, Solaris, HP-UX) is an added advantage. - Strong
command-line skills and familiarity with common Unix/Linux utilities and
tools. - Good
understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH). - Basic
to intermediate knowledge of LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). - Experience
with WHM/cPanel hosting environments. - Proficiency
in shell scripting (bash, sh, etc.). - Knowledge
of monitoring tools, patching, system hardening, and backup solutions. - Ability
to troubleshoot issues independently and provide detailed RCA. - Strong
communication skills and the ability to guide and mentor junior engineers. - Willingness
to work in rotational shifts and on-call support schedules as needed.

- RHCSA/RHCE
- Linux
Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS) - CompTIA
