Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Akamai Security Engineer with strong experience in Zero Trust architectures, Enterprise Application Access (EAA), and secure access technologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting Akamai security solutions, along with integrating identity and network controls to ensure secure enterprise access.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and configure OVA appliances in VMware / vSphere environments
- Implement and manage Akamai Enterprise Application Access (EAA) solutions
- Configure and maintain Secure Web Gateway (SWG) and proxy services
- Design and support Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) architectures
- Integrate SSO (Single Sign-On) and identity providers (IdP) with Akamai solutions
- Manage DNS, routing, and firewall rules for secure connectivity
- Configure and maintain Web Application Firewall (WAF) and edge security services
- Troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, and access issues
- Collaborate with network, security, and infrastructure teams for end-to-end delivery
- Document configurations, architectures, and operational procedures
Required Skills
- Strong experience with VMware / vSphere and OVA deployments
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, routing, TCP/IP, firewall policies)
- Hands-on experience with Akamai EAA (Enterprise Application Access)
- Experience in Secure Web Gateway / Proxy solutions
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture principles
- Experience with SSO integrations (SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect)
- Familiarity with WAF and edge security services
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Akamai platform (EAA, WAF, Edge Security)
- Knowledge of Identity Providers (Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Understanding of Zero Trust frameworks (e.g., NIST)
- Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python) are a plus
