Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Platform Modernization Consultant to support early-stage customer engagement for a cloud migration initiative. This role is focused on advisory and pre-sales solutioning, helping shape the technical approach for modernizing and migrating a legacy data platform to AWS. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in data platform migrations, AWS analytics services, and legacy system transformation, along with strong communication skills to engage in customer-facing discussions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in 1–2 discovery and alignment calls with stakeholders
- Act as a technical subject matter expert (SME) representing platform capabilities
- Provide guidance on data platform modernization strategies and migration approaches
- Recommend target-state AWS architecture aligned with business and technical needs
- Answer high-level technical questions related to architecture, scalability, and best practices
- Help define current-state to future-state roadmap concepts
- Support pre-sales discussions without involvement in delivery or SOW commitments
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in data platform modernization and migration projects

Hands-on expertise with AWS analytics and data services, including:
- Amazon S3
- Amazon Redshift
- AWS Glue
- AWS Lambda
- Amazon EMR (preferred)

Experience working with legacy data platforms, such as:
- Cloudera / Hadoop ecosystems

Solid understanding of:
- Data warehousing and data lake architectures
- ETL / ELT processes
- Data governance and performance optimization
- Ability to design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud architectures
