Vignesh Sathyan – Employee Limelight

This month marked the beginning of our new initiative, "Employee Limelight." AT VTG, we try different things that help us understand our employees better and implement various initiatives to improve their work-life balance.

We had a chance to interact and learn more about our new employee Mr.Vignesh Selvan who recently joined VTG. Below are the questions that we asked Mr.Vignesh.

Your role in VTG?
I have joined VTG as a Migration Engineer.

Tell us about yourself?
A system / VMware engineer having 4+ years of experience in multiple organizations.

How did you begin your career at VTG, and what are your current responsibilities?
I started working at VTG last month through a reference from one of my friends. Currently, I am working here as Migration Engineer, also taking care of VMware and IT support.

What has been your favorite project or part of your work?
Involving in client coordination to plan and execute migrations gives me new thinking and ideas about specific stuff.

What do you believe are the key ingredients of a successful migration engineer?
A good working environment, dealing with new migration-related challenges, and the freedom to solve those challenges with adequate salary are the real keys.

Tell us something we don’t know about you
I am a sports-loving person.

Is there a place you desire to travel and why?
Not in particular. But I like to travel the unknown places.

Give us a couple of tips for aspiring Migration Engineers?
Be clear in the basics. Have cross domain knowledge in infra (server, storage, network) understand the process clearly

What do you believe are the key ingredients of a successful migration engineer?
One needs to understand the infra setup better and have a clear roadmap on how the infra should be destined. This kind of planning and its execution plays a significant role for a successful migration engineer.

Tell us about yourself?
I have a total IT experience of 4.8 years, and I have worked in the organizations like LTI & NTT Data before joining VTG. I have good hands-on experience in technologies like Windows, VMware, and Hyper-V and am currently working in VTG as a migration engineer.
