Key Responsibilities:
Hardware Installation:
- Unpacking, inspecting, and physically installing servers, switches, routers, storage devices, and other data center hardware into racks.
- Precisely aligning and securing equipment within racks using proper mounting hardware.
- Connecting power cables, network cables, and other necessary connections according to specifications.
Cabling and Connectivity:
- Labeling cables.
- Running, bundling, and tying down cables according to precise datacenter standards.
- Accuracy and detail are a priority.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintaining detailed records of installed equipment, including serial numbers, rack locations, and cable connections.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge:
- Significant experience with data center cabling standards and practices (copper and fiber optic).
- Physical Abilities:
- Ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment safely
- Manual dexterity for precise cable termination and connections
