We are seeking an experienced WordPress Architect
to lead the design, development, and optimization of high-performance WordPress
solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in WordPress
architecture, custom theme and plugin development, performance optimization,
security hardening, and scalable deployments. This role requires a strong
technical background combined with the ability to collaborate with
stakeholders, developers, and designers to deliver enterprise-grade WordPress
solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect,
  design, and implement scalable WordPress solutions for enterprise-grade
  websites and applications.
• Develop
  and maintain custom themes, plugins, and APIs tailored to business
  needs.
• Ensure site
  performance, scalability, and security by applying best practices in
  caching, CDN, code optimization, and monitoring.
• Lead migration
  projects from legacy CMS or other platforms to WordPress.
• Collaborate
  with designers, developers, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality,
  responsive, and accessible solutions.
• Establish
  and enforce coding standards, development guidelines, and CI/CD
  practices for WordPress projects.
• Conduct
  code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance audits to ensure
  system stability and reliability.
• Integrate
  WordPress with third-party systems, APIs, and headless CMS frameworks
  where applicable.
• Stay
  updated with the latest WordPress core updates, plugins, and security
  practices to keep the ecosystem current.
• Mentor
  junior developers and contribute to continuous knowledge sharing within
  the team.

Required Skills &
Qualifications

• 8+
  years of professional experience in WordPress development, with
  at least 3+ years in a lead/architect role.
• Expertise
  in PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), jQuery, and modern
  frameworks.
• Strong
  experience in WordPress architecture, multisite setup, custom
  plugin/theme development, and REST API integrations.
• Proven
  track record in performance optimization (caching layers, CDN, load
  balancing, database tuning).
• Solid
  understanding of WordPress security hardening and best practices.
• Hands-on
  experience with headless WordPress (WPGraphQL, REST API) and decoupled
  front-ends (React, Next.js, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Proficiency
  with Git, GitHub/GitLab, and CI/CD pipelines for automated
  deployments.
• Familiarity
  with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) for
  scalable hosting environments.
• Experience
  working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and managed
  WordPress hosting (e.g., WP Engine, Pantheon, Kinsta).
• Strong
  analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
