Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned, high-caliber Senior Project Manager to lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives spanning the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and critical Datacenter Infrastructure upgrades.
In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating the delivery of complex technology solutions, managing matrixed global teams, and steering offshore development partners. The ideal candidate possesses a rare blend of deep technical literacy (knowing the difference between a CI/CD pipeline and a network switch) and world-class stakeholder management skills. You will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while navigating the nuances of distributed global delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
-
End-to-End Delivery: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management, engineering leads, and business stakeholders.
-
Hybrid Methodology: Successfully apply Agile/Scrum frameworks for SDLC tracks and Waterfall/Structured methodologies for datacenter and infrastructure rollouts.
-
Resource & Financial Management: Manage project budgets, forecast resource needs, and allocate tasks across internal teams and external vendors.
2. SDLC & Offshore Governance
-
Offshore Delivery Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for offshore development teams. Overcome challenges related to time zones, cultural nuances, and communication barriers to maintain high velocity.
-
Release Management: Partner with QA and DevOps leads to oversee sprint planning, code deployments, and release cycles, ensuring robust testing and minimal business disruption.
3. Datacenter & Infrastructure Integration
-
Infrastructure Rollouts: Lead projects involving datacenter migrations, hardware refreshes, virtualization, and cloud integrations (hybrid/multi-cloud environments).
-
Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the bridge between software application teams and core infrastructure/networking teams to ensure hardware readiness aligns with software deployment timelines.
4. Risk Management & Communication
-
Proactive Mitigation: Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and blockers before they impact critical path milestones.
-
Executive Reporting: Present transparent, high-level status reports, KPIs, and dashboards to the PMO and C-suite executives.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Experience & Education
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
-
Experience: * Minimum of 8–10 years of IT project management experience.
-
Proven track record of managing offshore/nearshore vendor models.
-
Demonstrated experience delivering both software products (SDLC) and hardware/datacenter infrastructure projects.
Technical & Core Competencies
-
Methodologies: Deep understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies.
-
Tools: Mastery of project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet).
-
Infrastructure Literacy: Solid high-level understanding of datacenter operations, networking (routers/switches), virtualization (VMware/Nutanix), and cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
-
SDLC Literacy: Familiarity with modern software architectures, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
Certifications (Highly Preferred)
-
Project Management Professional (PMP)
-
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or PMI-ACP
-
Exposure to AI-assisted software engineering projects is a major plus as well.
What We Look For (The "Soft" Skills)
-
The Translator: The ability to talk technical architecture with engineers and business value with executives.
-
The Negotiator: Proven ability to hold offshore vendors accountable to strict SLAs without damaging partnerships.
-
Chaos Coordinator: Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment where software sprints move weekly, but hardware procurement takes months.
